Alone initially stemmed from my (Landon's) love of funeral doom metal and the song maintains a tempo of 85 bpm throughout. It is the closing of the Ego Death trilogy of songs, and represents the moment when you realize that you are all alone in this world and that you must take care of yourself and move forward of your own volition. There are no greater answers except the ones that you determine for yourself. There is no magical force that can motivate you except yourself. This song really expresses the stark reality and beauty of life, and on most days is my favorite song on the demo.
